Summer seems to have gotten ahead of spring here in Arizona, with our mid-90s heat recently. That's nothing unusual. But the calendar says that spring in the Northern Hemisphere -- the vernal equinox -- begins at 3:29 a.m. Monday, March 20. This marks the time when the sun is directly over the equator at midday. The good news is that cooler, wet weather is approaching later this week.
